Welcome to Nigeria: where 45,000 ghost workers are paid N100bN and the people live in abject poverty

I am very sure this is not the first time you might be hearing this, but do you know that those ghost workers earn that much?

This was disclosed by the Minister of State for Finance, Yerima Ngama, on Wednesday while briefing State House Correspondents on the outcome of the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan at the State House
Mr. Ngama said the discovery of the ghost workers had resulted in the reduction of the wage bill by about N100 billion.
The ghost workers were discovered in 215 Ministries, Departments and Agencies under the Integrated Payroll and Personal Information System (IPPIS).
