FEMI KUTI – NIGERIAN IDOLS BRINGS OUT THE PLAYFUL SIDE OF ME

Etisalat and Nigerian Idols must have pleasantly surprised people when they added Afrobeat legend, Femi Kuti to their panel of judges for the third season of their reality show. The son of Fela Kuti is known to be a private person and generally shies away from too attention.

He did however link up with 'Nigerian Idols'; and the Afrobeat maestro isn't regretting the decision. When Femi Kuti isn't picking future stars on set, he's playing pranks on his fellow judges. Former Shalamar member, Jeffery Daniels happens to have been on the receiving end of a few.

"I'm very happy I joined because it has given me a flexibility to readjust many things around me. Express myself in a different way", Femi says. "Many people do not the funny side of my life; because they see a very aggressive singer who is always singing political songs, who is angry. That's who the people know. They don't know the Femi that plays pranks, cracks a lot of jokes and is very mischievous. With all the stress, we find time to be humorous"

Femi Kuti & his Positive Force band will be releasing a new album 'No place for my dream' in April of this year. The new record will first be released in Europe and America.
